Via the custom fields under Catalogues > Categories > [Select category] in the tab "Additional" you will find a media field Category Icon (1) for configuring the icon.
Use conventional JPG or PNG files for this. SVG files can be integrated and displayed even better, for example in the form of icons. In our demos, for example, we simply use the icons from Ionicons and save the SVG file directly on the page.
In the theme configuration, the icons in each menu can be configured in terms of display and size.
