> Feature of the Pro version

With the help of **Category-Navigation element**, you can place the shop’s categories as navigation in your shopping experiences layouts, preferably in the sidebar.

The **Category-Navigation element (1)** is in the list of selectable elements of the theme and can, for example, be placed in the sidebar (2).

### Configuration

You can use the **mode** to determine how the navigation should be displayed. The option **Active Path only (1)** does not display any neighboring parent categories. The option **Subcategories only (2)** only displays the subcategories of the current category. The **Default** option displays the normal standard display with all categories and the active level expanded.

### Custom entry point

Using the **Custom entry point (1)** mode, you can select any **active category (2)** of the assigned sales channel and use it as the entry point for navigation. This allows you to not only select an individual category, but also map the navigation structure of the service menu or footer navigation.
