A theme duplicate is a virtual copy of a theme. This creates a new entry in the database table "themes" and copies the theme configuration of the parent theme.
A theme duplicate inherits the theme configuration from the parent theme - this also includes the values already set manually.
A theme duplicate is always useful when different sales channels are to be provided with alternative theme settings using one theme. For example, the logo in the theme configuration should be different for each sales channel.
Navigate to the Content > Themes section in the Shopware administration. Select the theme from which you want to create a duplicate and click on the context menu (1). Select the option Create duplicate (2) and a virtual copy of the existing theme will be created, including all settings. This duplicate theme can now be assigned to a sales channel.
